Richard Meyers:
Richard Myers, 63, sings a cappella. A busker (UK English for “street performer”) since he started at Pike Place in 1997, he got his first break sing the Kool-Aid Song for dimes at a family reunion in 1961.
Richard’s repertoire, in over a dozen languages, ranges from opera to Gregorian chant to silly songs for kids to black gospel and blues to…well…songs that don’t fit any category like his own composition “Do You Remember When We All Had Hair?”, a tribute to his hippie friends from the 60s and 70s who are now, many of them, as bald as he is. Richard has written over 60 songs, mostly gospel, and adapted many others. He describes himself as “a Jesus Freak, but not obnoxious about it.”
Come hear him - Decide for yourself! He will likely smile at you, and may tease you, hoping you’ll tease back.
